Refuge Recovery Meetings

About Refuge Recovery

Refuge Recovery is a community of people using the Buddhist-inspired practices of mindfulness, compassion, forgiveness and generosity to heal the pain and suffering caused by addiction. Through these practices we train our hearts and minds to see clearly and to free our thoughts, intentions, and actions from all forms of hatred, ill-will, aversion and wishing harm on ourselves or others. We do not ask anyone to believe anything, only to investigate this approach to see if it is valuable to your process of recovery. When sincerely engaged in, Refuge Recovery’s program will not only ensure a full recovery from any addiction (food, drugs, sex, alcohol, etc), but also a lifelong sense of well-being.

About the Meetings

Meetings are open to people of all backgrounds, and are appropriate for anyone interested in recovering from any form of addictive behavior. You do not need any previous knowledge of Buddhism or experience with meditation to attend. Peer-led meetings include guided meditations, readings from the book Refuge Recovery and group discussion. Growth and recovery require individual and continual effort. Community support is an essential component to remaining dedicated to your individual efforts. These community gatherings are welcoming, informative, encouraging and uplifting. We look forward to having you join us. Feel free to call with any questions 402-884-8850.
